The title of this post says it all really and yes it's to do with my lump or Rameses as I've come to know it as. It's gotten bigger which is bad, more fluid build up which is also bad but the good news is that I finally got to see a specialist and he has decided to slice my head open and remove the thing instead of draining it and hoping it doesn't refill again. Which is in my opinion is good news. Well maybe not the slicing open bit but the removal part YES YES YES!!!
It's getting bigger I can feel it has and people have pointed to me that it has and the headaches have gotten worse and more frequent, my balance, which lets be honest wasn't always great to begin with has taken a bit of nose dive. I reached down for a glass to pour a drink at work the other day and it went completely and I ended up hitting my head on my one of the shelves. A pure comedy moment that wouldn't have looked out of place in an episode of Mr Bean, which on a complete tangent to the subject matter in this entry, is in my opinion some of the finest television comedy that this country has ever produced. Right up there with Blackadder, Red Dwarf and The IT Crowd.
I've had a couple more ultrasound scans and one each of MRI's and CAT scans and can now confirm that I do have a brain, that would appear to be in full working order, well according to the people who did the scan, yes I'm just as shocked as you on that one. I thought that whatever brain cells I had left my body a long time ago.
So now I play the waiting game for when the operation will be, I've been told it could be around February time when I get it done and it will require me to put under general anaesthetic, because let's face it who would want to be awake when they slice your head open? I would much rather be dreaming of being pretty much anywhere else.
So that's the update....hope it was worth it.
Peace out hombres
