So it's been nearly a month since my last entry, that's a long time for you poor people who read this to wait for an update to my life.....well if my reading figures are true there are a few out there who do take the time out of there busy lives to read the drivel I come up with, so to those people thanks for sticking around and I promise to be better at updating in the future!
So why the delay, I've spent half the month living in hotels and crashing at various friends places on and off while building work takes place in my humble abode. Luckily most of the damage is cosmetic and the bones of the building are safe. I'm still looking back at how lucky I was to survive with all my belongings in tact, especially after finding out that the gas mains for the entire building was approximately two feet away from where the fire started, and if it had ignited them the whole block would have gone boom. The fire investigator told us that it was only by pure luck that it didn't, the speed of the response of the fire department being the main factor. They arrived on scene 8 minutes after the 999 call and had the fire out within 5 minutes of being on site, there quick actions clearly saved the building and in doing so earnt my respect and eternal gratitude.
So that's one of the main reasons for the delay in writing. One of the other ones is work, it's been a period of weird shifts and I've been all over the place with days and nights, private hire bookings and opening up on days we're not even open. I don't know if it's me getting older or people just getting ruder but we've had a lot of plonkers in recently (I could use more colourful language there but trying my best not to be to foul mouthed on here!), some of which have pushed me to the limit with regards to my patience which is usually one thing I'm known for in my working life.
I've also been back and forth to hospital a couple of times for check in regarding Rameses, which hasn't helped me get any further along in the process of getting the bloody thing removed. In fact at the time of writing I've been told I'm seeing a new consultant as the one I had been seeing has apparently left the United Lincolnshire Health Trust and left me in limbo! Now I've got friends and family who work in the NHS and they give there all for patients and it's not there problem but the system isn't working properly is it? I got a phone call last week from the mental health department, which I was referred to over 2 years ago and they only just had the time to get in offer me help. I'm glad I made the decision to go private and look after myself, who knows what I would have been like without the help of Rosie and the better help team.
There have been a few highlights. A trip to the cinema to see He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. The film based on the cartoon set on Eternia and based on the adventures of Prince Adam, Teela, BattleCat, Man at Arms and the rest, battling the evil forces of Skeletor.
In case you hadn't picked up on this yet, I'm a big film fan and I can honestly say that I haven't left a cinema trip with such a big smile on my face in years, in fact the last time I remember doing so was with Star Wars Episode 2 when Yoda had the lightsabre battle against Count Dooku. Yes there have been highs at the cinema, the end of Endgame but nothing like this for a very very long time. I came out of the screen with a huge grin plastered all over my face that didn't leave me for a days after!
The world cup, even with the times of the kick offs for the games making my sleep pattern slightly odd at times but has been keeping me entertained. I've also bitten the bullet slightly and started having guitar lessons with a pro, which has once again made it obvious that I do not have a musical bone in my body! I've also slightly changed two of my challenges....Pokemon Go changed it levelling system, I was originally aiming for level 50 in the game but with the changes it shot me to level 56 and now the highest level you can reach is 80, so that's the new aim. The other one is Homescapes, I originally wanted to hit level 16000, which at the time of writing was the highest you could achieve, however it's now 20081 so that is the new aim. I've also joined a team within the game...and made some new friends doing it, so Leah, Craig, Kay, Sue, Shane, Lini, Shan, Charley and the rest thanks for the late night WhatsApp sessions!
So until we meet again, and I promise it won't be as long this time!!
